Babywearing Cafe Meet up and Babywearing Walk

Meet at Quail Cafe at 10.30am for a relaxed get together. The cafe offers a lovely range of meals, snacks and drinks. Arrive promptly to get your lucky number for the prize draws happening after morning tea. If the weather is favourable we will follow the cafe meet up with a walk through the quarry gardens so bring some comfy shoes.

Auckland Sling Walk
Saturday 7th October, 11am
Join us at the 9th annual Auckland Sling Walk, proudly presented by My Natural Baby, celebrating New Zealand and International Babywearing Week.
Meet us at Britomart (look for the My Natural Baby and New Zealand Babywearing Week banners, or failing that, the large gaggle of people with children in carriers…;) ).
11am Register and get your lucky number for the prize draws at the end.
11:20am You’ll want to be there to see, or join in with Kangatraining West and Central Auckland, as they kick of the Auckland Sling Walk with a couple of fabulous numbers.
Then: We’ll walk the Viaduct finishing in Wynyard Quarter by the play area, where the kids can play and the adults can catch the prize draws and pat the pretty carriers around the place (my favourite part!).

Kangatraining West Auckland Class
Details: 2nd October 2017, MPOWR Fitness, 6/7 Veronica St, New Lynn, Auckland
Join us for a fun babywearing exercise class to celebrate New Zealand Babywearing Week 2017!
All mums/dads/caregivers welcome, hire carriers available if you don’t own one or the one you own isn’t suitable for exercise.
Mums must be 6 weeks postpartum [12 weeks for c section] and all participants will need to fill in a health form before class.
Kangatraining is a full body, low impact, interval based exercise class, with floor work exercises, muscle endurance tracks, dance based choreography and stretching.

Recarry Stretchy Wrap Workshop
Anchorage Park Community House – Swan Crescent, Pakuranga, Auckland
Thursday October 5th 2017
7:00pm – 9:00pm
To celebrate New Zealand Babywearing Week 2017, we have partnered with
Slingbabies to bring you this special stretchy wrap workshop. It specifically caters to
expectant parents, and those with new babies aged 0 – 3 months.
You can expect to learn about the benefits and safety aspects of babywearing,
expel some common myths, and leave with practical skills on how to use a stretchy
wrap. Participants will also be given a stretchy wrap to keep at no cost, thanks to the
Recarry initiative from The Sleep Store.
This is a fabulous opportunity, especially for those families that may not otherwise be able to afford a carrier. Bookings are essential as places are limited – please use the registration button on the facebook event or contact Rhianon via Wearable Heart.
All equipment will be provided, as will a little supper. Children and support people are also welcome, but please let us know for catering purposes.

New Zealand Babywearing Week 2017 and raise the profile of babywearing in New
Zealand.
We’ll meet outside the Cafe for registration, and can help to fit carriers if needed.
There will be spot prizes at the end of the walk. Bring the whole family, and make
some new friends.
